From the composer’s foreword:
“Since 2020, the world has never calmed down, with one crisis following the next: first coronavirus, then the war in Ukraine, plus a constant stream of new environmental disasters. In view of these developments, I felt the need to compose a kind of musical prayer for “peace and freedom”. The work is addressed both to God and to people, as a cry for help, but also as a call to reflection. As I deliberately wanted to appeal to many people, I used a simple tonal language. The piece is written pianistically, lies well in the hand, the range of an octave is not exceeded. It can therefore be played by many pianists.”
